At the Meta Agriculture Lab, “meta” carries three interconnected meanings, each reflecting one of our core missions:

  • Reveal the meta-level principles of agroecosystems We seek to discover and understand the underlying mechanisms and rationales that govern agroecosystem functions and processes.
  • Build ultra–high-fidelity crop models in the metaverse We develop immersive, physics-informed, and data-driven crop simulations that accurately replicate plant growth, environmental interactions, and management dynamics.
  • Scale meta crop models to create agricultural digital twins We deploy our advanced crop models at large scales to construct intelligent agricultural digital twins, enabling prediction, optimization, and sustainable decision-making.
